Overview

A Chelsea, Manhattan-based family is seeking an experienced temporary nanny to care for their young toddler while traveling across Europe from mid-to-late June through late August. The nanny will not be responsible for overnight care and will have private sleeping accommodations. There is a possibility of two domestic trips in May and early June, which would serve as a trial period to ensure a good fit. The typical schedule will be Monday through Saturday, 8 to 9 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a toddler (18 months by summer).
• Engage the child in educational and fun activities to support cognitive and motor skill development.
• Handle daily care routines, including diapering, feeding, and nap schedules.
• Encourage early language development through conversation, reading, singing, and play.
• Ability to prepare simple, nutritious toddler meals/snacks and encourage independent eating.
• Supervise and accompany the child on family outings and provide independent care when parents have separate plans.
• Offer occasional evening babysitting a few nights per week.

Qualifications

• Patient, energetic, proactive, and knowledgeable about toddler development.
• Attentive and proactive in outdoor settings.
• Multi-lingual (French or Spanish preferred) is a plus but not required.

Requirements

• Must have professional experience caring for toddlers (18 months and younger)
• Must have a valid passport and be comfortable with international travel
• Comfortable in water (e.g., swimming, beach activities)
• Up-to-date on all major vaccinations
• CPR and first-aid certification preferred.

Salary and Benefits
